Automatically updated, multi-layer virus protection ensures
integrity of promotional material
Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against viruses
and spam, today announced that Ministry of Sound, the international
dance brand, has installed Sophos
Anti-Virus and Sophos Enterprise
Manager to protect its promotional and mission critical data
from virus infection automatically. Delivering software updates at
hourly intervals, Enterprise Manager ensures Ministry of Sound
always has up-to-date protection against the latest virus threats.
As it can be set to run and update automatically, there is little
impact on its IT department's time.
Following major network reconstruction, London-based Ministry of
Sound, decided to replace its existing anti-virus protection, which
was not sufficiently failsafe for its needs. After a month's
evaluation process with Sophos, Ministry of Sound opted for its
anti-virus protection due to the ease with which it could rollout
security updates across its servers and 140 desktop PCs, avoiding
the complicated and time-consuming manual reconfiguration of all
machines.
"We are reliant on sending and receiving large volumes of
promotional material by email, internet and CD, so it is crucial
that we have the best available virus protection which is supported
by an experienced and responsive technical team on a 24/7 basis
that responds to issues rapidly," said James Bacchus, chief
technology officer at Ministry of Sound. "Not only has Sophos
boosted our security and cut our management overheads, its
technical support team has demonstrated in-depth knowledge and
understanding of its product, a refreshing change to previous call
centres that I have had to liaise with."
"Ministry of Sound uses a variety of technologies to send and
receive music files and merchandise information. It needed an
anti-virus solution that could protect and accommodate applications
including image development software, such as RIS," said David
Stanley, general manager UK at Sophos. "Sophos Anti-Virus is one of
the few products on the market that can support such a wide range
of technologies and Enterprise Manager's automatic update function
ensures that new viruses don't slip through the net."
