Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against spam and
viruses, has announced that it has been named as 2004 European
Security Company of the Year by market consultants Frost &
Sullivan.
Presented each year to the company that has demonstrated
excellence in the security market, the Frost & Sullivan Award
for European Security Company of the Year is open to companies
either founded or headquartered in Europe. The award takes into
account business development, competitive strategy and customer
service leadership as well as outstanding management, consistent
growth, and high quality products and services.
"We believe that Sophos is the deserving recipient of the
'European Company of the Year' Award. The company has shone above
other European security players," stated Jose Lopez, analyst at
Frost & Sullivan. "Sophos's track record in the security
market, excellent performance, ambitious international expansion
and growth plans, and increased recognition from partners,
competitors and customers have been key in our decision to choose
Sophos ahead of other strong candidates for the award."
"We're proud of our achievements as a successful security
company with consistently strong growth and award-winning
products," said Peter Lammer, CEO and co-founder of Sophos. "All
Sophos staff around the world work hard to provide all our
customers with the very best service possible, and this award from
Frost & Sullivan shows us once again that we are on the right
track."
Sophos has previously been awarded Frost & Sullivan's Growth
Strategy Award in 2003 and was also recognised as providing the
best customer satisfaction in the anti-virus sector in its 2002
report, 'European E-mail Security End-user Study'.
Sophos is headquartered in Boston, US and Oxford, UK. More information is available at www.sophos.com.
