Sophos to advise on virus threat at AVAR 2002
Industry expert informs on how to avoid becoming a virus
victim

Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection, will
be both attending and
sponsoring the Association of anti Virus Asia Researchers (AVAR)
2002 international conference in Seoul. Industry veteran Paul
Ducklin will be raising awareness of the most common virus threats
and providing practical advice on how to prevent infection during
his speech at the conference. AVAR 2002 takes place at the
Ritz-Carlton hotel in Seoul on the 21st and 22nd November.
Speakers at the conference have been carefully selected from
applicants from sixteen nations to present information about the
latest developments in anti-virus technology and discuss the issues
affecting worldwide information security. Delegates include
security professionals and anti-virus researchers amongst other
interest groups.
"Conferences like AVAR provide those with an interest in
anti-virus with a valuable opportunity to discuss current and
future virus trends and how to counteract them," said Paul Ducklin,
head of global support and Asia-Pacific virus laboratory at Sophos.
"Sharing our experiences and the information we have gathered can
only strengthen our defenses against malicious code and hopefully
minimise the damage it causes."
