Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection,
announced today that the AMP Group has purchased a 10,000-user
licence to protect its corporate network against over 75,000
existing viruses, worms and Trojan horses as well as the hundreds
of new viruses appearing each month. AMP, the leading international
financial services company, has deployed Sophos's award-winning
software in the UK and at other European sites.
AMP's network solutions are co-ordinated and managed by Computer
Sciences Corporation (CSC), which has also administered Sophos's
implementation. After an extensive evaluation, Sophos was chosen on
account of its certified detection rates, ease of use and flexible
management tools.
"As a financial organisation the data we have on our systems is
crucial to our success," said Andy McHattie, IT Contract Services,
AMP. "It is imperative that we are able to maintain accurate
records and statistics, and also that we communicate efficiently
with business associates and clients. We rely on Sophos to ensure
our operations are not compromised by virus attack."
"Organisations like AMP are increasingly placing their trust in
Sophos as part of their security strategy," said Jonathan Brooks,
Global Sales Manager, UK at Sophos. "The experience we have in
protecting corporate networks against malicious code means that we
are ideally placed to address AMP's needs, and those of businesses
throughout the world."
