Sophos Anti-Virus, a global leader in corporate anti-virus
protection, has promoted Mr Philip Kemp to the newly created
position of OEM Sales Manager, Asia Pacific.
This move sees Kemp become one of the first appointees to
Sophos's new global OEM Business Development Division and
underscores the company's drive towards strategic OEM
partnerships.
In the role, he is responsible for developing new relationships
with partners that will either bundle or embed Sophos Anti-Virus
solutions in their offerings. He will also assist with the
behind-the-scenes development of the new Sophos division. The new
role reports directly to both the Managing Director for Australia
and New Zealand as well as to the company's UK headquarters-based
Director for Global Sales and Marketing.
Philip Kemp has been with Sophos for two years, most recently in
the position of Business Development Manager, Australia and New
Zealand. Previously, he held management roles with EMAP Business
Publishing in Europe and Pilkington's in New Zealand. Kemp has
worked and travelled extensively, covering some four continents and
more than 40 countries, gaining global business experience.
Announcing the promotion, Mr Stuart Palmer, Sophos's Managing
Director for Australia and New Zealand, said, "Philip's promotion
represents an important step for Sophos as we seek to expand our
market share through the development of strategic OEM partnerships.
We have witnessed a global trend towards organisations offering
best-of-breed integrated security solutions and Sophos's
specialised anti-virus software is best placed to take advantage of
this."
