Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection,
announced today that its award-winning virus scanning technology
has been selected by EuropeOne, a principal network security
company, to form a key component of its Mail Sentinel Gateway
product.
The EuropeOne Mail Sentinel Gateway provides unparalleled
protection from common mail server vulnerabilities. Depending on
customer requirements the appliance acts as either an email gateway
or mail server - protecting customers from both computer viruses
and hack attacks. Sophos's anti-virus solution forms a key module
within the product, defending users against over 73,000 computer
viruses, worms and Trojans.
"This is an extremely important and exciting partnership for
EuropeOne," said Adam Clark, director of sales at EuropeOne. "We
have combined Sophos's outstanding virus detection with our own
core technologies to offer a watertight and cost effective
solution."
"Most businesses now rely on IT and Sophos is always keen to
make corporate networks as secure as possible," said Mark Forrest,
sales and marketing director at Sophos. "By working with companies
such as EuropeOne we can prove that a workable balance between
functionality and security is possible."
The EuropeOne Mail Sentinel Gateway allows customers to choose
security components according to their individual needs. The
appliance currently works with Microsoft Exchange, but can be used
independently if required.
