Sophos appoints five leading business partners to deliver
corporate anti-virus solution
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Sophos Anti-Virus, a world leader in
corporate anti-virus protection, continues to strengthen its
channel network in Asia as it appoints five new leading business
partners in Malaysia to distribute Sophos's award-winning product
suite. Sophos has already set up a strong channel of VARs and SIs
in the region and this latest announcement further shows Sophos's
commitment to help corporations in Malaysia to address the demand
for highly effective security solutions.
Sophos's new business partners in Malaysia are: Dasar Jati Sdn
Bhd, Magnifix Sdn Bhd, e-Lock Corp. Sdn Bhd, Infotech Focus, and
Eastern Systems Design (M) Sdn Bhd. The five companies are all
reputed technology companies in Malaysia.
A survey conducted by the National ICT Security and Emergency
Response (NISER) Centre in Malaysia last year indicated that there
is a growing need for corporations in Malaysia to improve their
strategy in combatting increasing amount of computer-related
attacks. The NISER ICT Security survey showed that of the 205
survey respondents, 47% experienced virus attack, with more than
half quantifying their losses to reach RM239,000 (US$62,300) due to
virus attack. The survey also reveals that most corporations in the
country have ineffective security measures, with only 59% of the
respondents attributing their security measures on anti-virus
solutions and 47% on firewall solutions.
"Sophos is committed to providing first-class anti-virus
protection and support. Through our partners in Malaysia, we are
confident that we can raise the level of security awareness among
enterprises in the country. In addition, we will educate
corporations and government institutions on various virus threats
and provide them with alternative anti-virus solutions through our
partner network," Charles Cousins, Managing Director for Sophos
Asia, says.
Sophos will provide support to all five business partners
including training and sales tools to enable them to advise
customers on safe anti-virus practice, marketing assistance, and
access to a Business Partner website, where they will be able to
secure information and technical support. Sophos also supports
partner sales efforts by managing all aspects of software
subscriptions directly, advising partners of customers' license
expiry and automatically emailing details of the latest virus
identities to end users.
