Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection,
announced today that Equiinet, the principal secure server
appliance provider, has integrated Sophos Anti-Virus technology
into its NetPilot Enterprise multifunctional server solution.
The Sophos anti-virus engine forms an essential part of the
NetPilot Enterprise service, which provides company-wide access to
the internet and email. The appliance sits at the gateway to a
network and incorporates full 'boundary scanning' capability to
check all incoming and outgoing email for viruses, Trojans and
worms.
"We chose Sophos Anti-Virus on account of its high detection
rates and ease of integration," said Bob Jones, managing director
of Equiinet. "Security is of paramount concern to our customers. It
is essential that the NetPilot service includes the best available
anti-virus solution."
"With the number of viruses spreading via email increasing
steadily it is ever more important for companies to have additional
protection at the gateway," said Mark Forrest, Sales and Marketing
Director for Sophos Anti-Virus. "NetPilot Enterprise is an
effective and reliable facility and we are delighted to have been
selected to become part of it."
NetPilot Enterprise is a compact, rack-mountable internet
appliance that is ideal for medium-to-large organisations requiring
high levels of resilience. In addition to virus scanning it also
incorporates a built-in, pre-configured firewall. Both the firewall
and Sophos Anti-Virus have received Checkmark certification from
West Coast Labs.
Sophos is headquartered in Boston, US and Oxford, UK. More information is available at www.sophos.com.
