Higher Ed systems to market Sophos Anti-Virus products
throughout Australia
SYDNEY -- Higher Ed Systems (HES), the software and services
company owned by the Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee
(AV-CC), has announced a new deal for universities looking to
upgrade their anti-virus software.
HES has joined with Sophos Anti-Virus, one of the world's
leading anti-virus software specialists, to offer their virus
protection software to the education marketplace.
"Sophos Anti-Virus is one of the world leaders in anti-virus
software," Mr John Murgatroyd, Chief Executive Officer of HES,
says. "Because Sophos Anti-Virus is designed around the concept of
providing virus protection on networks, it offers technical
benefits in installation and management, as well as a simple
licensing structure.
"Combining this with very affordable pricing for the educational
community, HES can offer university IT administrators a deal which
will provide them with a technically superior product and save them
both time and money."
Sophos Australia is also delighted to be associated with
HES.
"Sophos Anti-Virus is strong in the educational market in other
countries, especially in the UK, where it is the leading anti-virus
software vendor to schools, colleges and universities," Sophos
Australia's Managing Director, Richard Baldry, says.
"We are aiming to be the leader in educational anti-virus within
the next few years, and see a channel partnership with HES as being
critical to our longer-term success in address the school, TAFE and
university markets."
Sophos Anti-Virus protects more than 100,000 seats within the
Open University of the UK, and software and signature updates can
be rolled out across the various networks in about 10 minutes!
