New customers continue to abandon competitors in favour of
Sophos
Sophos Anti-Virus, Europe's leading developer of corporate virus
protection, has announced that its global business has grown by
over 200% in the last year due to an unprecedented increase in
sales in over 120 countries. Sophos's success results from
remaining the only independent anti-virus software vendor that
focuses on supplying high quality software and support 24 hours a
day to corporate customers.
"Over 50% of our new business is coming from customers disturbed
by the drop in the quality of support from competitors and the
turmoil caused by recent mergers in the industry," said Mark
Forrest, director of sales and marketing at Sophos Anti-Virus. "Our
continued focus on high detection rates, ease-of-use, excellent
quality assurance and world-leading customer service has clearly
positioned us as Europe's leading corporate anti-virus vendor."
Over 65% of the top 100 companies in the FT500 listing use
Sophos Anti-Virus, demonstrating the high level of trust that large
corporations place in the company. Sophos customers include global
banks, governmental departments, large corporations and major high
street retailers.
"We use Sophos Anti-Virus because it's a good solution for the
corporate network," said Steve Jones, information security manager
at Marks and Spencer, one of the UK's leading high street
retailers. "Data integrity is crucial to our retail operations and
so we demand best of breed levels of protection, particularly
against viruses. It's not just the superior software, but also the
technical support that has constantly surpassed our expectations.
We know we can always rely on Sophos."
To accommodate the company's huge growth, Sophos will recruit
over 100 new staff in its technical, sales and marketing
departments this financial year and will build an additional
high-security research and development centre, totalling over
80,000 square feet in Abingdon, UK.
