Elron to integrate Sophos Anti-Virus technology into its security solutions

Sophos, Europe's leading anti-virus developer, and Elron Software, a leading internet content management developer, today announced a strategic partnership which will provide computer users with the world's most powerful virus protection by seamlessly integrating Sophos Anti-Virus technology into Elron's family of Internet Policy Management solutions.

Working with Elron's Message Inspector product, Sophos Anti-Virus software will provide customers with world class protection from internet-borne viruses and malicious code.

"We selected Sophos Anti-Virus technology for this partnership because of its high detection rates, ease of integration, and outstanding stability," said Pat Dunne, General Manager for Elron Software, Europe. "This partnership provides customers worldwide with an integrated solution for ensuring e-business and email security."

Elron's Message Inspector product analyses, manages, and, if necessary, blocks or redirects company communications made through email, newsgroup and FTP sites. Sophos Anti-Virus complements Message Inspector's capabilities to provide a complete gateway solution for email content filtering and virus protection.

"Recent virus outbreaks underline the importance of first class protection," said Graham Cluley, head of corporate communications for Sophos Anti-Virus. "We are delighted to partner with Elron Software and to bring comprehensive virus protection to an even wider audience."

Using Sophos Anti-Virus Interface (SAVI) technology, third party vendors and service providers can combine Sophos's anti-virus capabilities with firewalls, email servers, encryption devices and other security-related devices.
