Sophos Anti-Virus receives "The Pick of 1999" Award

Sophos, the world leader in network-based anti-virus solutions, today announced that Sophos Anti-Virus has been awarded Secure Computing's "The Pick of 1999" and is included in the magazine's Buyer's Bible.

Sophos Anti-Virus earned five stars for the highest possible overall rating, as well as maximum marks for performance, documentation, and technical support.

Secure Computing compiled a list of the select IT security products that it had reviewed in 1999, determined the leaders, or "Picks," in each security category, and included a review of each Pick in the Buyer's Bible, published in its December issue.

The Buyer's Bible describes Sophos Anti-Virus as "one of the stalwarts of the anti-virus solutions... Sophos Anti-Virus is a stable and high performance product with good pedigree. It supports, perhaps, the widest base of operating systems of any anti-virus developer." The magazine went on to praise Sophos's "first class" virus detection rates.

"We're delighted to receive this award and be included in Secure Computing's Buyer's Bible for IT professionals," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos Anti-Virus, "We pride ourselves on excellence, both in our technology and in the levels of support we provide to our customers, and this award recognises Sophos's continuing success."
