Rob Forsyth joined Sophos in 2001 and held the title of APAC Regional Vice President from 2005 to 2012. As an active spokesperson within the IT sector, he lends his expertise to many industry associations. Some of them include the Internet Industry Association as Deputy Chairman and Treasurer and The Internet Society. Rob also served on the NSW Branch Executive Committee of the Australian Computer Society for 6 years. He was appointed a Fellow (FACS) in 2011.
Since 2009 Rob has led the Over the Horizon forum of Cyber Security Week run by the Australian government Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. In 2011 he was elected to the NSW Board of Crimestoppers and elected Chairman shortly after in 2012. He is an inaugural member of the Australian Federal Governments National Standing Committee on Cloud Computing and currently chairs the Code of Practice sub-committee. He also serves as a member of the New Zealand Government’s Cyber Security Awareness Advisory Group.
Prior to joining Sophos, Rob spent five years working for the Sydney Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG). There, he was responsible for planning the work force and industrial relations.
