Rob Forsyth joined Sophos in 2001 and is Director, Asia Pacific based in Sydney. He is an active spokesperson within the IT sector, lending his expertise to industry associations such as the Internet Industry Association (previously Deputy Chairman and Treasurer), The Internet Society (currently Director), and was on the NSW Branch Executive Committee of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for some 6 years and was appointed a Fellow (FACS) in 2011. Since 2009 he has led the Over the Horizon forum of Cyber Security Week run by the Australian government Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. In 2011 he was elected to the NSW Board of Crimestoppers, the Australian Federal Governments National Standing Committee on Cloud Computing and the New Zealand Government’s Cyber Security Awareness Advisory Group.
Prior to joining Sophos he was employed by the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG) where he held responsibility for planning the work force and industrial relations. Prior to working for SOCOG, Forsyth worked for 10 years at a leading IT executive placement and HR company.
