Ari Buchler joined Sophos in 2013 as General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development. He is responsible for the global legal affairs of Sophos, corporate development and partnerships.
Prior to Sophos, Ari was Vice President and General Counsel of Rocket Software, Inc., a global software development firm, where he served as Vice President and General Counsel from March 2012. As a member of the senior leadership team at Rocket, Ari directed the global legal affairs of the company and played a key role in its aggressive M&A strategy. Prior to Rocket, Ari spent 18 months advising emerging companies in the healthcare technology and IT industries. Previously, Ari served as Senior Vice President, Legal and Regulatory Services at Phase Forward Incorporated, where he was a member of the senior executive team from 1999 until the company’s sale to Oracle in 2010. Ari helped build Phase Forward from a venture-backed start-up to a publicly traded global industry leader with over $200 million in revenue and more than 900 employees in 8 countries. He played a leadership role in Phase Forward’s venture and strategic financings, the company’s 2004 IPO and 2007 secondary offering, its eight M&A transactions and its sale to Oracle. Earlier in his career, Ari served as in-house counsel at Reed Business Information and as a corporate associate at the law firm of Skadden Arps.
Ari has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a special honors curriculum from Hunter College of the City University of New York and a law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
Ari serves on the Board of Trustees of the MGH Institute of Health Professions and the Board of Directors of STI Technologies Limited.
