Issue
New SafeGuard Enterprise users do not receive a certificate on clients that are installed with the Data Exchange/File Share module only (SGNClient_withoutDE, i.e. no Power On Authentication (POA) present).

This article describes how to import new users to a SafeGuard Enterprise system that has only the Data Exchange/File Share module installed.

Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
SafeGuard Enterprise Data Exchange

What To Do

To locally register a new SafeGuard Enterprise user on a system that has only the Data Exchange/File Share module installed, it is not possible to use the usual method of importing a user via the POA.

If additional users need to be assigned to such a computer locally, please make sure that the policy for "Specific Machine Settings" -> "Power On Authentication (POA) -> Import of new users allowed for" is set to "Everybody".

Note that if it is set to "Owner", additional users cannot be assigned via the GINA/Credential Provider and may only be assigned centrally via the Management Center.
