After uninstalling the Lenovo Client Security Solution or Lenovo Access Connections™, the reboot ends with the GINA showing "Could not load tvt_gina..." error message.
Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
SafeGuard Enterprise, Lenovo version.
All supported versions.
What To Do
This behaviour can occur when the "tvt_gina" in the Lenovo Client Security Solution or Lenovo Access Connections™ has been activated.
To fix this issue do the following:
- Logon at PoA level
- Press F8 to get the Windows Recovery Start Options.
- Boot the machine in "Safe Mode".
- Logon to Windows with an administrative (local) account.
- Open the registry.
- Change the value "OriginalGina" in the following hive: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Utimaco\SafeGuard Enterprise\Authentication from "tvt_gina.dll" to "msgina.dll"
- Reboot the machine.
