Question

After installation of SafeGuard Easy, following errormessage occurred during logon to the Operating System:

CMFCAPI
OpenLog failed: 0x80400001



Answer

Please check if the preparations prior to the installation of SafeGuard Easy (details: manual chapter 2.1 Preparing for Installation) were carried out completely and SafeGuard Easy was installed with a non-modified MSI package (apart from modifications through a transform file).

Please use a transform file to 'modify' the SafeGuard Easy package and apply the transform file during installation. We recommend to change tables entries at the 'Property' (like stated in the manual) and 'Feature' table only.

If this does not solve the issue, please check if the SafeGuard LogPlayer Service (Utimaco Auditing function) is in use and configured. If the SafeGuard LogPlayer Service is not configure, delete the following registry hive to solve the issue. Additionally, the SafeGuard SGLOG Player service has to be disabled:
