The Stevie Awards are hailed as "the business world's own Oscars".
Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control, today announced that Mark Hatton, president of Sophos North America, has been named a finalist for the 2007 International Stevie® Awards. Hatton's commitment to the company's North American success significantly strengthens Sophos's overall industry leadership position and profitability. Simultaneously, his determination, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and demonstrated experience empowers employees to achieve and exceed their individual goals. As the Stevie Awards recognize the efforts, accomplishments and positive contributions of business-people worldwide, being named a finalist for his work to date is a great honor for Hatton.
Since joining Sophos in 2002, Hatton has been a key contributor to the company's continued growth and success. Alongside Sophos's CEO, Steve Munford, Hatton works aggressively with the executive team to fulfill the company's vision. To date, his collective efforts have driven the North American region to achieve Sophos's strongest year-over-year performance in revenue growth - an industry record increase of 50 percent.
Underpinning that growth and the company's continued success since its last fiscal year-end (March 2007), Hatton spearheads Sophos North America's major technological advancements and sales and marketing strategies. His guidance throughout the company's ENDFORCE acquisition is largely responsible for the easy integration of the newest Sophos team members and technology. As a result of this successful acquisition, the company now leads the industry in providing the next generation of comprehensive, integrated threat management product offerings - complete with ENDFORCE's renowned endpoint security policy compliance and network access control (NAC) solutions.
Sophos North America's recent shift to a 100 percent channel sales model also marks another milestone occurring during Hatton's tenure. The region's new sales strategy, introduced in April 2007, further impacts revenue growth for the company and clearly demonstrates the company's unwavering commitment to customer service - Sophos's key, competitive differentiator. The total channel partner program supporting the strategy is currently the security industry's highest ranked program per VARBusiness Magazine's recent annual report card ratings.
The 2007 International Stevie® Awards gala was held on Monday, September 10 at the Marriott Hotel in Munich Germany, sponsored by the German State of Bavaria.
