Sophos Anti-Virus has been awarded the West Coast Labs Checkmark
certification again
Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control, today
announced that its flagship product, Sophos Anti-Virus, has once
again been awarded West Coast Labs Checkmark (Level 1 and Level 2)
for 100% detection and disinfection of in-the-wild viruses.
The accolade confirms Sophos Anti-Virus's ability to detect and
remove 100% of the viruses found in the wild, and its position as
one of the most powerful virus protection products available.
"Sophos Anti-Virus includes many great features in addition to
protection from the various forms of malware and other malicious
programs, such as its centralized installation, configuration,
updating and reporting, and its administrative functions and
management tools," wrote West Coast Labs in their June 2007
technology report, 'Anti-Malware Solutions'.
West Coast Labs concluded that Sophos Anti-Virus was "an
extremely reliable, complete anti-virus solution package that
provides high levels of protection without causing much impact on
local and network performance."
The West Coast Labs certification follows news earlier this week
that Sophos had won its 38th
VB100 award from Virus Bulletin magazine for 100% detection of
all in-the-wild viruses, without suffering from a single false
positive. In those comparative tests Sophos outperformed a number
of competing products from other vendors.
