Free Licenses Competition Terms and Conditions

General rules governing, and information relating to, the Sophos free licence competition.

This Competition is only open to charities (defined below) and offers 25 free 12 month licences (“Free Licence”) for Sophos Endpoint Security and Control to 25 successful charities

The term “charity” shall mean an organization that is:

  1. A non-profit organisation (NPO), with registered charity status
  2. Has one of the following areas as its central purpose:
    i. Environmental conservation or protection
    ii. Cancer prevention, treatment or hospices
    iii. Crime prevention
    iv. Child protection
    v. Senior citizens’ support and welfare
    vi. Prevention or relief of poverty
    vii. Advancement of education
    viii. Advancement of health or saving of lives
    ix. Advancement of citizenship or community development
    x. Advancement of arts, culture, heritage or science
    xi. Advancement of amateur sport
    xii. Advancement of environmental protection or improvement
    xiii. Relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardhip or other disadvantage
    xiv. Advancement of animal welfare
    xv. Promotion of efficiency of the armed forces of the Crown or the efficiency of the police, fire and rescue or ambulance services

Free Licences are subject to all of the terms of the Sophos End User Licence Agreement (“EULA”) available at http://www.sophos.com/legal/eula.html except to the extent that the fees provisions and the transfer provisions of the EULA are inconsistent with the terms of this Competition.

The Free Licence will be applied at the end of the current licence period for successful Charities that are existing Sophos customers. This Competition is subject to Sophos’s Privacy Policy available at http://www.sophos.com/legal/privacy.html

By entering this Competition a charity is deemed to accept the following terms (together with any Competition instructions and rules):

  1. Charity warrants that it has legal capacity to enter the Competition and agree to these terms.
  2. Only successful charities will be contacted by Sophos, and Sophos reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
  3. Only one entry per charity is allowed.
  4. Responsibility cannot be accepted for lost or undelivered entries.
  5. It is the sole responsibility of the charity to ensure that their details and e-mail address are accurate and Sophos are informed of any changes.
  6. Sophos accepts no responsibility for any changes from the time of submission of the entry to notification of any Free Licences being awarded which are not properly notified.
  7. By entering the Competition, the charity warrants that all information submitted is true, current and complete at the time of submission.
  8. Sophos reserves the right to alter, amend or close the Competition as necessary.
  9. Sophos reserves the right to disqualify any incomplete, altered or illegible entries or if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the charity has breached any of these terms.
  10. To qualify for and be entered into the draw, the charity must answer the question correctly.
  11. The winners will be picked at random. The Free Licences will be awarded to a charity that has answered the question correctly and whose name is drawn out of a hat containing the names of all of the charities that have answered the questions correctly.
  12. Free Licences are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
  13. No substitution or transfer of Free Licences will be awarded.
  14. No charity may win more than Free Licence.
  15. Failure to claim a Free Licence within the time or in the manner specified may result in cancellation of the Free Licence.
  16. Please refer to the associated webpage for the closing date, how and when successful charities will be notified. All entries must be received by December 3, 2010
  17. In the case of any disputes regarding these terms or the Competition instructions, conduct, results or any other matters relating to this Competition, the decision of Sophos will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. Successful charities may be required to take part in publicity resulting from this Competition; and these charities agree that their names may be used by Sophos in any publicity.
  19. This Competition and these terms are governed by English Law.
