Sophos named as "Best Managed Company" at Technology Industry Awards 2003

Technology Industry Awards 2003Sophos, a world leader in anti-virus and anti-spam protection for businesses, has won the "Best Managed Company" award at the Technology Industry Awards 2003.

In the year 2001-2002. Sophos's management grew the company's revenues by nearly 50%, on a user base of over 20 million. At the same time, the company has had strong employee growth and now has a global headcount of 658, the UK headcount alone increasing to 325.

"Sophos has achieved consistent growth over the last year and for the third consecutive year we have outperformed the anti-virus market as a whole," said Peter Lammer, joint-CEO for Sophos. "Our strategy has been to develop protection specifically designed for networked corporate environments, backed up with round-the-clock support. This award, and our success in business, is a clear endorsement of that strategy."

"Sophos has been very effective in managing growth," commented Leslie Stretch, UK Managing Director, Sun Microsystems and one of the award judges who voted Sophos the best managed company of 2003.

The Technology Industry Awards 2003 were presented by Nabarro Nathanson in association with Infoconomy and Intellect. More than 300 entries were received for the awards. All were subjected to a rigorous selection process, led by Infoconomy's highly respected team of journalists.
