Dear Scammer Part II

Did you spot the warning signs, from the previous blog entry, that suggested that the author was not legitimate? Yes? No?

There were a few:

  1. Attorney at law — Is not a typical British English phrase. A UK based lawyer wouldn’t refer to themselves as such.
  2. British Pounds Sterling — Is a tautology. You would normally refer to Pounds, Sterling, Pounds Sterling or British Pounds (GBP).
  3. ratio of 50:50 percent — The ratio would be 1:1 or a 50:50 split or each receive 50 percent.
  4. Esq. — Is not a well used term in British English and if used would be a male title. Though it is common for North American lawyers to style themselves Esq.
