eWay - Online phishing made easy!
After we have seen a surge in phishing scams targeting one of Australia’s biggest banks, Commonwealth Bank (1 and 2), SophosLab witnessed another Australia leading payment solution campany, eWay, falling victim to being a phish.
The interesting thing in today’s phishing scam is that the scammers use the exact same scammer tricks employed in the previous Commonwealth Bank phishing scams to defraud customers. The scam message is looks like as follows:
And the fake link opens a website which is exactly same as the page in the previous CommonWealth Bank phishing site except the company name.
SophosLabs strongly believes these two kind of phishing scams are made by the same scammers. And we believe more and more Australia banks and online payment service campanys will become the victim of phishing targets during the next few months.
