As well as the Britney Spears news (a popular target for malware authors 1, 2, 3 …) and the cheap software spam. SophosLabs have seen spam from this campaign spamvertising replica watches, viagra, weightloss and dubious job offers.
In this particular case clicking on the news story would run JS/Dload-E which would in turn download and run Troj/Dwnldr-GVM.
